Polish, Portuguese presidents to meet for talks in Warsaw

The Polish and Portuguese presidents are expected to meet in Warsaw on Tuesday to discuss Russia's war in Ukraine, European security and bilateral relations.

Poland's Andrzej Duda and Portugal's Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will hold face-to-face talks in the Polish capital on issues including "the enlargement of the European Union and support for Ukraine," according to officials.

This will be followed by a meeting of a wider group of officials from both countries, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

While in Poland this week, the Portuguese leader is also scheduled to meet with parliamentary Speakers Elżbieta Witek and Tomasz Grodzki.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Tuesday is day 545 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
