Małgorzata Wassermann, a lawmaker with the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party, made the statement in a media interview, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Asked about the so-called "cash-for-visas" controversy, Wassermann said that her conservative government “doesn’t sweep matters under the carpet, whatever the price.”
She told broadcaster Radio Wnet that an investigation into possible corruption in the granting of work visas to migrants was under way, overseen by prosecutors and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA).

Wassermann urged the public to “give investigators time” to complete the probe.
She said: “There is no place in our party for people who break the law. I wonder if our political opponents would be capable of taking such an approach.”
On Thursday, prosecutors and Poland’s deputy minister for security services said that seven people had been charged over possible corruption in the process of issuing temporary work visas.
They added that the investigation had begun in July last year and was ongoing.
Poland’s President Andrzej Duda said on Thursday he was awaiting the results of the probe.
