If the elections were held on Sunday, September 24, the United Right, led by Law and Justice, would win, receiving 36.76 percent of the vote, the new poll found, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Meanwhile, the main opposition grouping, the Civic Coalition, would come second with 30.44 percent of the vote, according to the latest survey.

Fellow opposition grouping, the Third Way alliance, which comprises the centre-right Poland 2050 and the rural-based Polish People’s Party (PSL), would get 9.81 percent of the vote, finishing third, the PAP news agency reported.

If the elections were held on Sunday, The Left would come fourth, with 9.72 percent of respondents declaring they would vote for this grouping, according to the poll.

The far-right Confederation grouping, meanwhile, would finish fifth with 8.67 percent of the vote, the PAP news agency reported.

The latest survey was conducted by the Pollster research institute for the Super Express daily newspaper on September 21-22.

The poll was carried out by means of computer-assisted web interviews on a sample of 1,015 adult Poles, with a maximum error of estimation of 3 percent, the PAP news agency reported.

Last month, Poland's lawmakers approved a government plan to combine the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 15, with a nationwide referendum on issues including the retirement age and illegal migration.

Voters will head to the ballot box to elect 460 new MPs and 100 senators for a four-year term.

The ruling conservative Law and Justice party and its government coalition allies have maintained a clear lead over the opposition in most recent surveys, polling ahead of the centrist Civic Coalition (KO), the far-right Confederation group, and the Third Way coalition of the rural-based Polish People’s Party (PSL) and the centre-right Poland 2050 grouping.

The ruling conservatives in 2019 won a convincing victory over opposition parties at the ballot box, securing a second term in power.
