Polish cities including Katowice, Tychy, and areas near Kraków experienced tremors lasting just over a minute, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage, according to Remiza.pl.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has reached out to the Małopolska voivode Łukasz Kmita and advising an escalation in readiness of services to manage any potential fallout.
In a post on social media platform X, Morawiecki wrote: "There was an earthquake in Slovakia this evening. It was also felt in Poland. I spoke to the Małopolska voivode about it and recommended increasing the readiness of services.”
