Tusk announced the measures at a news conference in Warsaw on Tuesday.

He spoke to the media after a Cabinet meeting focused on the draft 2024 budget, the PAP news agency reported.

Tusk said his government would "deliver on the pledges made to millions of Poles."

He said "teachers' salaries will rise by 30 percent next year," including kindergarten, school and university teachers.

The prime minister also announced that "all public sector employees will receive a 20-percent pay rise in 2024."

Tusk confirmed PLN 500 million (EUR 115 million) in state funding for in vitro fertilisation, additional PLN 3.2 billion (EUR 738 million) for local governments, cash boosts for seniors and an increase in the family allowance.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Andrzej Domański said Poland's budget deficit would total PLN 184 billion (EUR 42.4 billion) in 2024, on the assumption that GDP will grow by 3 percent and inflation will be 6.6 percent.

He added that the government would "take measures to reduce the deficit in the coming year," including through cost savings in all government ministries.

Domański said Poland's currency, the zloty, had "strengthened notably" since the October 15 election in the expectation of a new pro-European government and "the unfreezing of European Union funds."

He added that this would "help combat inflation."
