Following hard on the heels of a survey of Polish trust in politicians (which we reported on here), IBRiS has conducted an opinion poll on presidential candidates for Onet

According to the new poll, the current Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski (PO) would pip the other candidates to the finishing line with 25.8%. Long touted as a candidate, Trzaskowski lost narrowly to Andrzej Duda in the 2020 presidential elections with 48.97% of the vote in the second round. He won the 2018 Warsaw presidential elections in the first round.

In second place is the former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki with 24.9%. However, several commentators have suggested his candidacy is unlikely in view of the scandals emerging related to his government.

Third place with 24.6% is taken by the Sejm's current Speaker Szymon Hołownia. However, Hołownia has most cause for optimism as his support has grown since the last IBRiS poll - at the cost of Trzaskowski and Morawiecki. Krzysztof Bosak (Konfederacja), Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz (PSL) and Robert Biedroń (The Left) trailed the poll leaders with 8%, 4.3% and 3.5% respectively.
