The exercises, part of the Brilliant Jump 2024 operation, involve 3,000 soldiers from five NATO member countries, Poland, Britain, Spain, Albania and Turkey, using nearly 700 vehicles such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers.
The General Command of Poland's Armed Forces has issued a statement urging the public to remain calm and refrain from publishing any information or photographs that could reveal troop movements or locations.
The exercises have seen NATO forces move east across the Vistula River to Bemowo Piskie in the country's northeast.
The British contingent forms the core of the VJTF, working closely with allies to form what is described as the "armored fist" of the NATO spearhead force.
The exercises also feature Poland's 1st Warsaw Tank Battalion, which recently became part of NATO's rapid reaction force.
Later this week, the battalion's Leopard tanks are expected to participate in the Dragon 2024 exercises, integrating with units such as the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade and the 17th Mechanized Brigade.
The Dragon 2024 exercises will cover operations on land, in the air, and at sea, involving contributions from various branches of the Polish armed forces, including the 11th Lubuska Armored Cavalry Division and the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division, along with special forces, territorial defense, air force and naval units.
The Brilliant Jump and Dragon exercises are integral to NATO's Steadfast Defender 2024 series of maneuvers, aimed at enhancing the alliance's defense capabilities and readiness.
