His statement comes amid ongoing debates over the role of religion in education, highlighted during an interview with the “Gość Niedzielny” weekly.

Kosiniak-Kamysz, who also leads the Inter-Ministerial Team for the Church Fund, indicated that discussions regarding the fund are progressing, with preliminary solutions expected by June.

"I hope that during the vacations, we will start discussing it with representatives of churches and religious associations. Dialogue on the laws in the pipeline is very important," he stated.

Responding to a question about his personal stance on whether religion should be available as a school subject, Kosiniak-Kamysz affirmed, "Of course. But [my child] may not have that opportunity, because Education Minister Barbara Nowacka believes that there should be no religious instruction in school at all."

He criticized the proposed reduction to only one hour of religious instruction per week starting September 1, as suggested by Nowacka.

"There is no question of abolishing religious instruction in school, after all, it is enshrined in the Concordat," Kosiniak-Kamysz declared, asserting the contractual obligation to maintain religious education.

But, he also acknowledged the concerns about the quality of religious teaching, pointing out that, "the problem is not where religion lessons are held, but that in many places they are very poor."
