Authorities are now urgently searching for two firefighters who remain unaccounted for after an explosion rocked the building during the rescue operation.

The blaze occurred on Kraszewskiego Street, with emergency services responding to the call at around 11:50 p.m., according to Józef Galica, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the State Fire Service.

During the operation, an unexpected explosion—possibly two—was reported by rescuers. The cause of the explosion is still unknown. Among the injured are three civilians, including a resident of the building and two passers-by who were struck by shrapnel.

The whereabouts of two firefighters remain unknown, raising concerns among emergency teams. "We are deeply concerned about the two missing firefighters," Galica said at a press conference. A specialized search and rescue unit has been deployed to locate them.

Efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing, with authorities working to assess the building’s stability to safely continue the search. "We are determined to thoroughly search the entire underground area, as we believe our colleagues may be there," Galica added.
