"I have no doubt that increasing defense spending and making NATO armies truly strong - especially if they stand together within the Alliance to defend every inch of its territory - will prevent a major war or a third world war," said President Duda during his speech in Kielce, south-central Poland.
President highlighted that Poland, by investing over 4% of GDP in defense, is a global leader in military spending and expressed gratitude to Polish politicians for continuing this policy of increasing defense funds.
Andrzej Duda believes that adequate defense funding can prevent the outbreak of a third world war.
Referring to historical lessons from the start of World War II, he noted that Poles act as if no one will come to their aid, emphasizing that Poland trusts its NATO and US allies while making serious investments in defense to deter potential aggressors.
"Yes, that's correct. We act as if no one will come to our aid because we believe we are primarily responsible for our own security," the President said.
"But we also believe that we are a reliable ally, and that’s why we show our partners that we take security seriously," he added.
