The Westminster Magistrates' Court in London has decided that Michał K. will remain in custody without bail. Judge Caroline Jackson expressed concerns that he might not attend future hearings and seemed reluctant to return to Poland.

The judge found the defense's proposal of £200,000 bail, staying at a fixed address in the UK, and reporting to the police inadequate due to the seriousness of the charges and the risk of flight.

Michał K. may apply for bail again on September 10, but the next extradition hearing is scheduled for February 17-19 next year, as explained by TVN24's London correspondent Maciej Woroch.

The preliminary hearing on Tuesday focused on verifying Michał K.'s identity, presenting the charges from Polish authorities, setting future court dates, and deciding his custody status until then.

The defense presented letters from Polish politicians, including a former Prime Minister, Health Minister, family members, and former Deputy Prime Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz, who attended the court.

Michał K. was arrested by British police under a European Arrest Warrant from the Warsaw District Court and an additional warrant valid for the UK. He faces charges related to involvement in a criminal organization and abuse of power at the Government Strategic Reserves Agency.
