This statement concluded a thorough analysis following reports of an unidentified flying object which had supposedly breached Poland’s airspace last week.

During a press conference on Thursday, Klisz detailed the extensive search operations that involved both aerial and ground searches across extensive areas.

Over 3,200 square kilometers were covered from the air, and more than 250 square kilometers were scoured on the ground, he said.

Additionally, satellite imagery of over 310 square kilometers was analyzed to pinpoint any potential debris from the object, according to Klisz.

The general said that this analytical process did not alter the data, but his assessment of the situation had changed.

He added that his ongoing investigation into the incident continues to exclude various possibilities and enhance the accuracy of radar system operations to prevent ambiguous detections in the future.

Klisz also highlighted the Polish military’s continued readiness in light of ongoing Russian aggression in western Ukraine.

Since August 1, the Polish armed forces have been engaged in Operation "Eastern Dawn" to strengthen the country's air defense capabilities, Klisz told reporters.

He did not dismiss the possibility of future airspace violations considering the volatile regional context, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

This announcement follows repeated instances since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, where missiles have crossed into Polish territory.

Notable incidents include a missile that killed two people in the village of Przewodów in November 2022 and a Russian Kh-55 missile that landed near the north-central city of Bydgoszcz in December 2022, with its remnants found in April 2023.

Klisz asserted that the military's current focus remains on ensuring the highest level of security for Polish citizens amid the threat posed by Russian airstrikes on Ukraine.
