Polish President starts his visit to the US

President Andrzej Duda’s U.S. visit, starting September 21, will include participation in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Saturday, September 21, marks the start of the President's visit to the USA, which is expected to last until Wednesday, September 25. His wife, Agata Kornhause-Duda, will accompany Duda.

The President’s schedule includes a list of meetings with high officials, such as the heir to the throne of the State of Kuwait, Prince Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

Duda is also scheduled to attend the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, which is planned for Tuesday.

On Sunday, September 22, the Polish President is set to attend the ceremony at the National Shrine of Our Lady, popularly known as the American Częstochowa, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

The earlier reports by the Polish state news agency PAP suggested a potential meeting between President Duda and Donald Trump. However, the Polish President’s office stated that it was not organizing this encounter.

Also, on Sunday, President Andrzej Duda is set to participate in the unveiling of a monument dedicated to Polish independence fighters after 1945.

On September 23, Duda’s schedule includes, among others, participation in the plenary session of the "Summit for the Future," meeting with the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović, and meeting with the Secretary General of the UN António Guterres.

Monday will also be the day of the “Round Table of Three Seas Leaders” organized by the Atlantic Council.

The 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79) opened on Tuesday, 10 September 2024. The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, 24 September 2024, continue through Saturday, 28 September, and conclude on Monday, 30 September 2024.

On 26 September, the UN General Assembly will convene a High-Level Meeting on antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
