Hołownia's party, Poland 2050, is part of the ruling coalition alongside the Polish People's Party (PSL). Although the election date has not yet been officially announced, it is expected to take place in May or June 2025.

So far, a few candidates have entered the race, including Sławomir Mentzen from the far-right Confederation and Marek Jakubiak from the conservative faction Free Republicans.

There is still debate within the Civic Coalition (KO) about whether Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski or Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski will secure their party's nomination.

PM Tusk praised Hołownia's courage and determination, stating that the decision to run should be respected and acknowledged.

He also emphasized that within KO, "friendly competition" prevails, with no hostility or disrespect.
