"The international situation is serious enough that we cannot afford internal disputes over our security. I call on all political forces and leaders to suspend disagreements on war and peace in Ukraine and to stand united against threats from the East" - the Polish Prime Minister emphasized via social media.

„Poland, Europe, and the entire West need full cooperation and solidarity now more than ever,” the politician added.

The post by the head of the Polish government appeared on X (formerly Twitter) the day after U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The American leader later announced the immediate start of ceasefire talks in Ukraine, claiming that both Putin and Zelensky are seeking peace.

The Trump-Putin discussions raise worldwide concerns about Ukraine and international security.

Talks on Ukraine ceasefire held with European leaders

On Thursday evening, Prime Minister Tusk announced that he had spoken by phone about a ceasefire in Ukraine with the country's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as other European leaders, including European Council President Antonio Costa, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his likely successor Friedrich Merz, and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

"The message is clear: Ukraine, Europe, and the US must be fully united and engage in peace talks," emphasized the Polish Prime Minister while commenting on the earlier discussions.
