Vance made the remarks on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle when asked about Poland’s request for U.S. nuclear arms on its territory as a deterrent against potential Russian aggression.

“I haven’t spoken to the President about that particular issue,” Vance said, “but I would be shocked if he was supportive of nuclear weapons extending further east into Europe.”

On Thursday, Polish President Andrzej Duda told the "Financial Times" he wants U.S. nuclear weapons in Poland to deter Russia. According to reports, the idea hasn’t been formally discussed.
