Weitmann spoke about ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas militants, as well as Russia's war in Ukraine, the niezalezna.pl website reported on Friday.

Referring to the conflict in Israel, he said: "We're gonna finish this war, we're going to win because we're stronger. Russia will pay the price."

He criticized Russia for supporting "enemies of Israel" and vowed retribution, implying support for Ukraine against Russia, according to niezalezna.pl.

Weitmann said, as quoted by Newsweek magazine: "Russia is supporting the enemies of Israel. Russia is supporting Nazi people who want to commit genocide on us and Russia will pay the price ... We're gonna win this war. Afterwards, we're not forgetting what you're doing, we're not forgetting, we will come, we will make sure Ukraine wins. We will make sure that you pay the price for what you have done, you as Russia."

The recent escalation in violence in the Middle East began on October 7, with Hamas launching its most deadly assault on Israel to date. Israel responded with air strikes on Gaza and has indicated potential ground invasion plans. The conflict has already resulted in significant casualties on both sides.

Israel and Hamas have blamed each other for a recent explosion at al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attribute the bombing to a failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad group, while Hamas claims the IDF is responsible.

US President Joe Biden, during a visit to Tel Aviv, spoke about the hospital incident, suggesting Hamas might be at fault. The Russian foreign ministry has called for transparency from both the United States and Israel about the incident.
