According to a statement from the FSB, cited by Ria Novosti, the man was employed by a security company in the Penzhin region of southwestern Russia and is alleged to have voluntarily established contact with Polish intelligence services.

The FSB claims that the individual intended to relay sensitive information about the company he was working for, particularly concerning its ties with foreign contractors in the Russian armaments sector. In return for this information, the man was allegedly promised assistance in emigrating permanently.

Details regarding the duration of the supposed cooperation between the Russian citizen and Polish intelligence services have not been disclosed. Legal proceedings against the individual, focusing on his alleged collaboration with a foreign state, are underway.

In response to these allegations, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Szejna expressed skepticism, referring to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Speaking to news outlet Onet, Szejna suggested that any information from the Russian side, particularly in the current context of Poland's support for Ukraine, should be treated as potentially untrustworthy.

"Russia is the aggressor state, and Putin is being prosecuted by the International Criminal Court. Therefore, any information given by the Russian side in a situation where we are making every possible effort to support Ukraine economically, socially or militarily should be considered fake news," Szejna told Onet.
