Poland's Andrzej Duda and NATO's Jens Stoltenberg held talks on the sidelines of the 2024 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday.
The discussion focused on "the security of Poland and the region," which are issues of "greatest importance," to Warsaw, presidential officials said.
Stoltenberg paid tribute to Poland's contribution to NATO, and to Warsaw's support for Kyiv's defence against the Russian invasion, public broadcaster Polish Radio's polskieradio24.pl website reported.
Later in the day, Polish president was scheduled to attend an exhibition on the Russian war crimes in Ukraine and take part in a debate on foreign direct investment in central and eastern Europe, among other appearances.
Meanwhile, Poland's Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski was due to hold talks with NATO's Stoltenberg, the government in Warsaw said.
The 2024 World Economic Forum is held between January 15 and 19 under the theme Rebuilding Trust.
The main topics include economic growth and international security, as well as artificial intelligence and climate policy, according to officials.
The event brings together "over 100 governments, all major international organizations and the Forum’s 1000 partner companies as well as civil society leaders, foremost experts, young changemakers, social entrepreneurs and the media," the organisers said.
Guests include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as France's President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, among others, according to officials.
Tuesday is day 692 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
