The ceremony, held on Saturday, saw the participation of heads and staff from more than 130 diplomatic missions, according to the Russian foreign ministry's State Protocol Department.

Ambassadors and representatives from a broad spectrum of nations, including the United States, European Union, Africa, and Latin America, along with delegates from the UN and other organizations, stood side by side at the spontaneous memorial.

The assembly also included diplomats from countries currently listed as “unfriendly” by the Kremlin.

Participants paid their tributes by laying flowers and releasing white balloons into the sky. "We are deeply grateful to the distinguished representatives of the diplomatic corps for their solidarity with the Russian people at such a difficult time," the protocol department expressed, according to Reuters.

The attack, which unfolded on March 22 during a concert, marked the deadliest terrorist incident in Russia in two decades, resulting in at least 144 fatalities and over 550 injuries. The Islamic State's Afghan branch, Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K), claimed responsibility. Russian authorities have detained several individuals, linking them to the attack.
