Major delays and cancellations are affecting key routes, including the Montparnasse station in Paris and the London-Paris line.

Approximately 800,000 people are facing issues with railway operations in France, according to a representative from the national carrier SNCF.

Multiple fires near railway tracks have primarily obstructed the movement of high-speed TGV trains heading to northern and eastern France. Additionally, an attempted attack on the rail network in the southeast of the country has been thwarted. SNCF described the incidents as "mass arsons aimed at destroying our facilities."

In Paris, Montparnasse station is experiencing severe disruptions, with most trains either canceled or delayed by more than two hours.

International high-speed rail service Eurostar has reported disturbances on the London-Paris route due to issues between Paris and Lille. Trains to and from Paris are being rerouted, extending travel times by approximately one and a half hours. Normally, the journey between the French and British capitals takes about two hours and twenty minutes. Some services have also been canceled.

The French government has indicated that railway problems may persist until the end of the weekend, and that authorities are working to ensure that fans and athletes can reach Paris in time for the opening ceremony, scheduled to begin on Friday at 19:30.
