Polish, Slovak PMs meet for informal talks

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has held informal talks with his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico to discuss issues including the results of the US presidential election, officials have said.

According to the Slovak government office, the unofficial meeting, held on Thursday, lasted three hours and focused on key bilateral and international issues, including cross-border transport infrastructure.

The Polish and Slovak leaders also discussed Poland’s upcoming turn at the rotating presidency of the European Union and the situation in Ukraine following Donald Trump's re-election as US president.

The meeting took place in the picturesque village of Jaworzyna Tatrzańska, surrounded by the mountain peaks of the Tatras, near the Polish-Slovak border.

Slovakia's Fico in May survived an assassination attempt in his home country, during which he was badly wounded and sustained life-threatening injuries.
