Starting in January 2025, Poland will receive additional "allied support for our air defense" in accordance with NATO’s resolution – announced Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense, via social media, informed that in a conversation with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, he conveyed his gratitude for Germany's assistance in strengthening Poland's security and NATO's eastern flank.

Boris Pistorius emphasized that the Patriot systems aim to protect a key logistics hub in Poland, vital for shipments to Ukraine.

"We offer NATO the deployment of Patriot units to Poland. They are to protect a logistics hub supporting Ukraine. The mission could begin in January 2025 and last up to six months," confirmed the German Ministry of Defense earlier.

The DPA news agency reported that Germany had previously deployed Patriot systems in Poland from January to November 2023, near Zamość in the southeast, close to the Ukrainian border.

These systems were stationed in southeastern Poland, following the tragic incident in Przewodów, where a rocket strike killed two people.

Poland plays a key role as a major ally to Ukraine and as a logistics center for Western military aid, with Patriot systems being among the most advanced tools for defending against aerial threats.
