“A few months ago, I announced the creation of drone forces, and now that vision is becoming a reality,” he stated during the official ceremony at the Ministry of National Defense headquarters in Warsaw.

“Starting January 1, 2025, the drone forces will no longer be just a plan but an operational part of the Polish Armed Forces. Before that happens, we are signing yet another agreement for highly important unmanned systems,” he added.

MQ-9B SkyGuardian are unmanned aerial systems capable of conducting imagery and electronic intelligence reconnaissance, as well as striking ground and naval targets using advanced weaponry.

The contract for the purchase of this equipment aims to enhance the reconnaissance capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces.

The systems are scheduled for delivery to Poland by the first quarter of 2027, although the Ministry of National Defense hopes to expedite the process.
