While in the Polish capital, Macron met for bilateral talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and also discussed efforts to support Ukraine with President Andrzej Duda.
Macron laid flowers at the Polish capital's Charles de Gaulle Monument and met with Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, who is running in next year’s Polish presidential election.
"During my meeting with President Emmanuel Macron, I presented him with a special album prepared for the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising," Trzaskowski shared on social media.
He added that their conversation touched on the future of a united Europe and Polish-French relations, with an emphasis on preserving historical memory.
During his meeting with Macron, Trzaskowski demonstrated his fluency in French, according to media reports.
"French-language skills do come in handy sometimes," he quipped in a social media post.
Summing up his visit to Warsaw, Macron praised Poland's support for Ukraine since the start of Russia's invasion.
"There will be no peace in Ukraine without the Ukrainians, and no security in Europe without the Europeans," he wrote on the X social media platform.
"Let us continue to work together to achieve this," he added.
Macron was also scheduled to tour the Warsaw Uprising Museum to honour the city's resistance against Nazi occupation during World War II.
However, this final part of the visit was canceled as Macron had to return to Paris early to address urgent domestic matters, the AFP news agency reported.
