The two addressed long-term support for Ukraine, including "the next steps in sanctions policy against Russia," the Polish foreign ministry said via social media.

They also discussed potential scenarios for further developments in Syria.

“As NATO allies, Poland and the United Kingdom work together to enhance security coordination and support for Ukraine,” the Polish foreign ministry said on X.

It added that Wednesday's meeting reaffirmed "the strength of this partnership."

Sikorski also outlined plans for Poland's upcoming presidency of the European Union, including proposed discussions on EU–UK relations, according to the Polish foreign ministry.

Summarizing his visit to London, Sikorski said that he and Lammy had discussed a range of key issues, including security and Britain's EU policy, as well as the Polish community in the UK and bilateral cooperation during Poland's EU presidency in the first half of next year.

While in London on Wednesday, Poland's top diplomat also appeared on the podcast The News Agents, where he said that supporting Ukraine is crucial for global security.

Sikorski also discussed populism, migration and the regulation of social media, which he warned could be exploited by external forces to undermine democratic elections.
