"Congratulations to Donald Trump on being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. All the best from Poland and the EU Presidency," stated Donald Tusk on behalf of the Polish government.
In a similar tone, Szymon Hołownia, the Speaker of the Polish Sejm (lower house of parliament), also shared his message.
„We are ready to cooperate, discuss and do business together,” said Hołownia, who is running in this year's presidential elections in Poland. "And may God keep us in His care," he added.
On behalf of the entire Polish nation, President Andrzej Duda congratulated President Trump on his inauguration in Washington.
„I am convinced that your presidency will continue to favor the strengthening of these bonds on the political, security and economic levels.
I am looking forward to our further fruitful cooperation, which I'm sure will contribute to boosting the Polish-US alliance.
I wish You and Your family health, prosperity and success in the coming years,” assured the head of the Polish state.
"I am sure we are heading for another good chapter in the cooperation between our countries," added Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense.
Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who was invited to Washington and faced difficulties reaching the ceremony, emphasized that we need a "revolution of common sense."
Magdalena Biejat, a candidate for the presidency from the Left party, expressed strong criticism of the Republican representative among Polish politicians.
"Trump is unpredictable. When he undermines the significance and role of NATO, we must invest in a common European army. It’s time for us to focus on Europe as our primary alliance. We need a united and integrated Europe," she appealed through social media.
In subsequent posts, the politician stated that "Trump sides with billionaires against ordinary people," and that "stories about the conquest of Mars are nods to one billionaire who generously funded Trump’s campaign." She also argued that Elon Musk is already trying to influence politics in Germany by clearly supporting the far-right AfD party.
