Georgette Mosbacher reportedly top candidate for U.S. Ambassador to Romania

The former U.S. head of diplomacy in Warsaw may soon represent the Trump administration's interests in Bucharest, according to reports from the Romanian portal G4Media.ro, cited by the Polish news outlet Onet.pl.

Mosbacher is reportedly the top candidate for the U.S. ambassadorship in Romania. She previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Poland from 2018 to 2021 during Trump’s first term.

The American businesswoman, a supporter of the Republican Party, is currently chairing the Three Seas Initiative Council at the Atlantic Council think tank and has been a strong advocate for closer U.S.-Poland relations.

The Polish President Andrzej Duda recognized her with the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for her efforts, including facilitating Poland's inclusion in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program.
