The U.S. has begun mass deportations of undocumented migrants, a policy that could impact up to 30,000 Poles. Polish officials have reported that two Polish nationals have already been detained for deportation, though no details have been provided about the reasons behind these decisions.

Wroński noted that it remains unclear whether these deportations follow existing U.S. procedures or are part of President Donald Trump’s newly expedited immigration policies.

Over the past year, 67 Poles have been deported from the U.S. The Polish government urges its citizens to stay in contact with consulates and ensure they have valid passports, which may help with legal procedures.

The deportations follow Trump’s swift immigration crackdown after taking office, including restrictions on birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants.

"I hope there won't be a missing Highlander band at Okęcie Airport," commented sarcastically Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski on the topic in a post on X (formerly Twitter), responding to a Polish news agency PAP report.

"I always remind that while abroad, citizens are required to comply with local laws, including immigration regulations. If there is any uncertainty about their status, we encourage them to visit consulates, which provide assistance in returning to the country," added the Polish top diplomat.
