The authorities in Washington admitted that the deadline for reaching an agreement could be postponed due to the large discrepancies between the positions of Ukraine and Russia, according to Bloomberg.

This year, on April 20, Western and Eastern Christian churches will celebrate Easter. Earlier, Russian media reported that this might be the date when the leaders of the United States and Russia, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, could meet.

On Sunday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Trump's telephone conversation with Putin, which they held on March 18, was "a step toward a face-to-face meeting" between the two heads of state. The next such step, according to Moscow, is Monday's talks between the US and Russian delegations in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, Reuters reported.

On Friday, Trump announced, without giving details, that a full truce between Russia and Ukraine would be reached "soon."
