According to the latest survey on trust in active politicians, conducted by IBRiS for the Polish news outlet Onet on a sample of 1,100 people between 23 and 24 June 2025, Poland’s top diplomat Radosław Sikorski took first place, with 43.2% of respondents expressing trust in him and nearly 15.9% declaring a neutral attitude. A total of 38.3% viewed him negatively.
Sikorski, now ranked highest in the list, recorded a significant rise, as he had placed only fourth in the previous edition. This time, he surpassed both candidates who competed in this year’s presidential election. The winner of the vote, Karol Nawrocki, came in second, while his opponent, Warsaw’s Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, was third.
It is worth noting that only active politicians were included in this ranking, as in an earlier poll the winner had been former president Aleksander Kwaśniewski, who no longer holds any political office.
Polish FM warns against president-elect's political intentions
Speaking today on Polish Radio in an interview with Renata Grochal, the foreign minister commented on the turmoil surrounding the validity of the second round of the presidential election in Poland.
Sikorski admitted that, as a democrat, he is dismayed that “more and more people fail to live up to the roles entrusted to them,” referring, for example, to the conduct of Supreme Court President Małgorzata Manowska.
According to the foreign minister, the main aim of Karol Nawrocki, supported by the populist Law and Justice (PiS) party, as president could be to topple the Tusk government on the orders of PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński.
