Two Polish tourists killed in off-road crash in Morocco

Two Polish women have died in an off-road vehicle accident in Morocco on the evening of Friday, 7 November.

The crash happened when the driver lost control of the vehicle while driving over sand dunes near the desert town of Merzouga, a popular tourist destination in south-eastern Morocco.

Maciej Wewiór, spokesperson for Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the incident in comments to Polish Radio.

Polish consular services have been informed and are assisting the victims’ families.

Diplomats are working with local authorities to arrange the repatriation of the bodies to Poland.
