The 15-strong team of doctors from the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw and paramedics from the Polish Center for International Aid are helping patients at a field hospital in the city of Brescia in Italy’s worst-hit northern region of Lombardy.
“The mission has helped us gain experience,” one of the team members, Paweł Szczuciński, told Polish Radio’s Wojciech Cegielski.
The Poles are due to leave Italy on Thursday.
After returning home they will have to spend two weeks in quarantine.
