The one-day visit marks Jacek Czaputowicz’s first trip abroad since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Czaputowicz’s face-to-face meetings with the Czech Republic’s Tomáš Petříček and Hungary’s Péter Szijjártó are expected to focus on efforts to fight the COVID-19 crisis and plans to reopen borders and restart economies after a lockdown.

The three top diplomats are also expected to discuss European business and issues affecting the regional Visegrad Group, which also includes Slovakia.

The Polish foreign minister’s trip comes after all diplomatic talks were in recent months conducted exclusively by phone or conference call, the IAR news agency reported.
