“The events in Washington are an internal matter of the United States, which is a democratic state governed by the rule of law," Duda said in a Twitter post.
"Power depends on the will of the voters, and the security of the state and its citizens is supervised by the services appointed for this purpose,” he added.
“Poland believes in the power of American democracy," Duda also said in his tweet in the early hours of Thursday Warsaw time.
Four people died and 52 were arrested after hundreds of supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol building on Wednesday to stop Congress from certifying President-elect Joe Biden's election victory, the Reuters news agency reported.

Duda last month congratulated Biden on his victory in the US presidential election and invited him to visit Poland.
