NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will be chairing the meeting at the alliance's headquarters in the Belgian capital on Wednesday and Thursday, the Polish defence ministry said.
It added that the gathering "will focus on the situation in the eastern part of Europe, including Russia's activities along NATO's borders and their consequences for Euro-Atlantic security."
NATO defence ministers are expected to make "further decisions on strengthening deterrence and defence on the alliance's eastern flank," according to the Polish defence ministry.
They also plan to discuss preparations for NATO's next summit due to take place in Madrid in June, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
While in Brussels, Poland's Błaszczak is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral talks with his counterparts from a number of NATO countries, including Germany and Canada, reporters were told.
