According to Ukrainian officials, the worst humanitarian situation is taking place in the Bucha district of the Kyiv oblast, the Polish tvp.info website reported.
Ukraine’s emergency officials told the BBC that the area was not controlled by the Ukrainian government and the occupiers had created a humanitarian catastrophe, tvp.info wrote.
The Russian invading forces are blocking access to several towns and cities in the district, including Bucha, Hostomel and Irpen, the officials said, according to tvp.info.
Moreover, the Russian army continues to shell residential areas and urban infrastructure, the Ukrainian authorities added, as quoted by tvp.info.
“According to local residents, the occupiers steal, kill and rape civilians, and check the ID documents of our citizens,” the Ukrainian emergency officials also said, tvp.info reported.
At the same time, the Russian forces are blocking all routes for the supply of water, food and medicines. Some 4,400 local people hiding in basements need to be evacuated, the Ukrainian officials emphasised, as quoted by tvp.info.
Tuesday is day thirteen of the Russian assault on Ukraine, which began on February 24.
