Tomasz Grodzki will discuss parliamentary initiatives to supply military aid to Ukraine, support refugees and punish Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
The talks in the Czech capital will also focus on Polish-Czech relations and how parliaments can help enhance them, according to officials.
Meetings with Czech PM, president, top lawmakers
On Wednesday morning, Grodzk will hold meetings with his Czech counterpart Miloš Vystrčil and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, reporters were told.
In the afternoon, Grodzki and Vystrčil are set to visit Prague’s Vitkov Hill to lay flowers at the statue of Czech national hero Jan Žižka and at the local Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Afterwards, Grodzki will be hosted by Czech President Miloš Zeman, officials said.
On Thursday, Grodzki is due to meet with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, lower-house Speaker Markéta Pekarová Adamová, and representatives from the country’s Polish community, PAP reported.
Grodzki's trip to Prague comes after he and Vystrčil led a visit of Polish and Czech senators to war-torn Ukraine last week.
