Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday evening: “Today I held talks in Kyiv with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister [Mariusz Błaszczak] and he brought us the Krab gun howitzers."
The Ukrainian president added, as quoted by Polish state news agency PAP: “Of course, we discussed further cooperation on defence issues. However, what matters is not just what we talked about, but also how. With absolute conviction about Ukraine’s future, European future.”
“It is the same during other conversations that I am having,” Zelensky said.
He added that “Russia has already felt the impact of modern artillery and they know they won’t have secure bases in our land.”
‘We will succeed’
Zelensky told his compatriots: “There is a difficult road ahead of us. Sadly it can’t be otherwise when you are defending your home against a terrorist onslaught.”
He added: “But it’s obvious that we will succeed. Ukraine will manage to defend itself, rebuild, and accomplish its foreign policy goals.”
Zelensky thanked ordinary citizens for staying in Ukraine despite the Russian invasion and for continuing their daily activities “with faith in Ukraine and victory.”
Wednesday is day 140 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
