President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda will attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. This is an absolute priority at the moment, even if requiring changes to their schedule at the UN General Assembly, said Jakub Kumoch, Head of the International Policy Bureau of the President's Chancellery.
Speaking on commercial Polsat television on Sunday, Jakub Kumoch said that this had been evident from the beginning. "As soon as I informed (the President) about the Queen’s death, it was clear that we are revising the whole programme, that the president and his wife, the presidential couple will be at the funeral, even if it requires reassembling their visit at the UN General Assembly; that is what is absolutely a priority at the moment,” he told the station.
"Quite simply it will be another difficult, very intensive visit, but it will happen," he added.
Buckingham Palace announced on Saturday, that the funeral of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II will be held at Westminster Abbey in London on Monday, September 19 at 11 am local time.
