Tamila Tasheva - the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea since 25 April 2022 - spoke to the Polish Press Agency PAP on Friday.

She said that “certain western politicians” have “warned Ukraine” to resign from all actions to regain Crimea. In response, Tasheva told the Polish Press Agency that the bond uniting Ukraine and Crimea is very strong, that it has continued since Kozak times and that “nothing will change this.”

Earlier this year, Tasheva issued a clear statement that “Ukrainian flags will be flying in all corners of Crimea this year.”

Tasheva said that the Ukrainian authorities are preparing the necessary legal steps for the “de-occupation of Crimea” because the “police, judicial and other systems should be ready to reenter the peninsula after eight years of Russian occupation.”

Tasheva explained that in the 8 years of Russian occupation, Russia has been illegally issuing passports and she claimed that numerous international laws have been violated, depriving Ukrainians – and most particularly Crimean Tatars - of their rights and property on the peninsula.

In other news related to Crimea, Russia’s FSB agency said 7 Ukrainian agents had been arrested in Crimea. Reuters and other news outlets reported that Russia claimed the seven alleged agents had been working with Ukrainian intelligence and accused them of planning "a series of high-profile sabotage and terrorist acts" in Russian-annexed Crimea.
