Tusk was elected Poland's next head of government by lawmakers after conservative Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki lost a vote of confidence in parliament on Monday.
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said in a social media post: "Congratulations @donaldtusk on your election as Poland's prime minister."
Sullivan added that US President Joe Biden "looks forward to continuing our work together as close allies."
"We value Poland’s partnership on so many issues – support for Ukraine, shared democratic values, energy – to name a few," Sullivan also wrote in his post on Tuesday.
The US ambassador to Warsaw, Mark Brzezinski, earlier congratulated Tusk "on behalf of the United States."
"We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the new government," Brzezinski said in a post on the X platform.
"This is strategically important for both our countries," he added.
