Biden warned earlier this month that if Russia was victorious in Ukraine then Putin would not stop but attack a NATO member, the Reuters news agency reported.
"It is complete nonsense - and I think President Biden understands that," Putin said in an interview published on Sunday by state television Rossiya, as quoted by Reuters.
Putin added that Biden appeared to be trying to justify his own "mistaken policy" on Russia, Reuters reported.
"Russia has no reason, no interest - no geopolitical interest, neither economic, political nor military - to fight with NATO countries," Putin stated, according to Reuters.
Biden has previously warned that if the world does not stop Putin’s appetite for power, the Russian president will not limit himself to Ukraine but could threaten the security of other countries, including Poland.
In a major speech in Warsaw in February, Biden said that America and its allies "will not tire" of supporting Ukraine and that "Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia."
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
Monday is day 663 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
