As of October 31, 2023, Poland supplied Ukraine with EUR 3.04 billion in weapons and military hardware, according to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

The figure puts Poland in sixth place among providers of arms to help Kyiv's fight against the Russian invasion, British broadcaster the BBC reported.

The US is Ukraine's top donor of military aid, with commitments of EUR 43.9 billion, followed by Germany (EUR 17.1 billion) and Britain (EUR 6.6 billion), the Kiel Institute said.

The main types of weapons provided to Ukraine are tanks, combat vehicles and air defences, the BBC reported.

Poland has donated 14 German-made Leopard 2A4 tanks, 60 PT-91 tanks and 280 T72 tanks to Ukraine, according to the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW) in Warsaw.

Poland also likely provided Kyiv with 250 infantry fighting vehicles, 160 armoured personnel carriers, as well as 10 reconnaissance vehicles and 50 "multipurpose off-road vehicles and MRAP vehicles," the OSW added.

When it comes to air defences, Poland has likely donated four launchers for the OSA surface-to-air missile system, 3 batteries of the NEWA short-range surface-to-air missile system and 12 S-60 anti-aircraft guns, according to unofficial information.

Poland's military aid to Ukraine has likely also included four sets of the Shilka anti-aircraft weapon system and 12 ZU-23 anti-aircraft autocannons, the state-run OSW think tank reported.

Poland's Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski this week urged Ukraine's allies to provide Kyiv with with long-range missiles to strike Russian launch sites, as well as with financial aid, after the Kremlin's latest wave of air attacks on Ukraine.

Thursday is day 680 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
