The group was led by a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk, who recruited individuals online to participate in subversive activities benefiting Russia, Polish state news agency PAP cited Ukraine’s General Prosecutor's Office as saying.
"Candidates were instructed to prepare and execute arson attacks on civil and critical infrastructure in Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic states, with specific targets provided via a mobile application," the Ukrainian authority stated.
Three individuals were detained and face charges of treason, preparing for arson, manufacturing and selling counterfeit holographic elements, and forging documents.
The investigation included about 40 searches across the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, and Kyiv regions. Authorities seized weapons, ammunition, nine cars, and cash equivalent to over USD 90,000, along with fake vehicle registration certificates, medical certificates, school certificates, and thousands of blank forms.
