Kuczmierowski, a close associate of former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki from the right-wing Law and Justice (PiS) party, was arrested in the UK in September based on warrants issued by a Polish court.
Prosecutors accuse him of participating in an organized crime group, abusing his authority, and failing to fulfill his duties for financial gain. The charges include allegations of embezzling public funds and rigging public procurement contracts.
A London court repeatedly denied his bail requests before granting release in January under strict conditions, including a bail package of over £560,000—£200,000 in security and £365,000 in surety, the latter of which was only secured on Monday. He is also required to report to the police regularly and remain at his residence during nighttime hours.
Kuczmierowski maintains his innocence, claiming the case against him is politically motivated. His extradition proceedings are ongoing in a British court, with the next hearing scheduled for July 23, lasting five days.
Speaking to TVN24 after his release, he expressed his desire to return to Poland, insisting he is a victim of political persecution and was deliberately arrested only after leaving the country.
