There were around 879,900 people without jobs across the nation at the end of April, down by 22,200 from a month earlier, according to the Polish labour ministry.
The state-run Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate dropped to 5.4 percent in March, from 5.5 percent in February.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated this month that unemployment in Poland was a modest 3 percent in March, unchanged from February and one of the lowest rates in the 27-nation bloc.
