EUR 1.5 bn trade deficit for Poland in 2021: stats office

Poland ended last year with a foreign trade deficit of around EUR 1.5 billion, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in a final estimate on Friday.

The figure was higher than an initial estimate of EUR 600 million.

Poland’s exports totaled EUR 288.1 billion in 2021 as a whole, while imports were worth EUR 289.6 billionthe government-run statistics agency reported.

Poland’s largest export markets were Germany, the Czech Republic and France, while Germany, China and Russia were the country’s largest import markets.

In 2020, Poland's foreign trade showed a surplus oEUR 10.5 billion, according to the statistical office.
