The latest figures were unveiled by the Family and Social Policy Minister Marlena Maląg, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Maląg told reporters in Warsaw: “In August the unemployment rate remained at the level recorded in July and June, namely 4.9 percent - this is according to the preliminary data.”
“This is the lowest rate in 32 years,” she stressed.
There were around 808,200 people without jobs across the nation at the end of August, down by 2,100 from a month earlier, Maląg said.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated at the start of September that unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.6 percent in July, the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation European Union.
