The country’s budget deficit is expected to be no more than PLN 184 billion (EUR 42.5 billion, USD 46.6 billion) next year, and the target for the general government deficit is 5.1 percent of GDP, state news agency PAP reported.
Government revenue is expected to total PLN 682 billion in 2024, with spending set at PLN 866 billion.
The proposed budget ensures full financing for the government’s key policies, including a plan to offer hefty pay raises to teachers and public-sector employees and an increase in the family allowance, Prime Minister Donald Tusk told reporters on Tuesday.
Finance Minister Andrzej Domański said the government would take steps to reduce the deficit next year, including cost-saving initiatives across all government ministries.
